Cooler

When loading, pre‑chill food and drinks before placing them in the cooler for maximum ice retention.
Load perishables (like meats or dairy) directly on top of ice packs or ice; this helps maintain safe temperatures.
Keep the cooler in shade rather than direct sun; direct heat reduces how long ice stays frozen.
Close the lid promptly after use. Prolonged opening allows warm air in, which speeds up ice melt.
Avoid placing hot items directly inside; allow foods/drinks to cool down first before packing. This helps preserve ice and prevent damage to insulation.
When moving the cooler, be mindful of the terrain. Wheels make transport easier, but on steep slopes or uneven ground, tipping or spills may occur. Use both the tow handle and the side handles if lifting is needed.
After use, drain melted ice water properly using the drain plug before transporting the cooler; wet weight can add up and make it heavy or messy.
